Not to be confused with Kinesiology, the study of movement, Applied Kinesiology is all about using the nerve impulses that run through musculature to diagnose and treat illnesses. Developed by a chiropractor, it is a very controversial form of diagnosis and treatment that can be used for things like nutritional imbalances and food sensitivities. Since it relies on a subjective test of the muscles’ reaction to possible affecters, researchers have had difficulty identifying its validity using conventional scientific methods. For this reason all practitioners have already received degrees in energy medicine: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Osteopathy, Naturopathy, etc. whose systems are linked to beliefs of whole body connectivity.
